Mirzapur Shahi Masjid

Mirzapur Shahi Masjid (Mirzapur Shahi Masjid) is one of the archaeological monuments of Bangladesh. The mosque is named after Mirzapur village of Atwari upazila of Panchagarh district . Mirzapur Shahi Mosque is about 300 years old. There are many similarities between the design of the High Court Mosque in Dhaka and the design of the Mirzapur Shahi Mosque.

The rectangular mosque is 40 feet long and 24 feet wide. The roof of the mosque has 3 domes side by side and 4 slender minarets at the four corners. There are 3 doors on the front wall of the mosque to enter the interior. Each wall and door is decorated with various artistic designs. The design features terracotta plaques, floral and foliage motifs. The mosque has an inscription written in French, which suggests that the mosque was built during the reign of the Mughal emperor Shah Alam. At present Bangladesh Archeology Department has overall supervision of Mirzapur Shahi Mosque.

You have to go to Panchagarh from Dhaka. Mirzapur Shahi Masjid is about 20 km from Panchagarh.

If you want to go by train, you can come to Panchagarh from Kamalapur in Dhaka by Panchagarh Express, Ekta and Hirtyan Express trains. According to the class, the train ticket fare ranges from Tk 695 to Tk 2398 per person.

From Panchagarh Bus Terminal, take a bus to Antuari and get down at Mirzapur, the bus fare is Tk 15-20. From here you can reach Mirzapur Shahi Mosque by walking or easy bike for 5-6 minutes. Besides, you can explore micro/private car rental for whole day from Panchagarh.
