Lohagarh Math (Lohagarh Moth) is a traditional ancient monument located one and a half kilometers away from Chandra Bazar in Faridganj Upazila of Chandpur District. Loha and Gahar, two tyrannical and tyrannical brothers of the zamindar clan, built this monastery near the banks of Dakatiya river as the site of the zamindar house, and the village and the monastery were named after them. The nearly 200-year-old Lohagarh Math currently consists of 3 monasteries of varying heights, ruins of palaces and underground caves. The artistic craftsmanship of the largest monastery is exquisite and different from other monasteries. A silent witness to the tyranny of the zamindars of that time, Lohagara Mutt has become one of the most visited places in Chandpur.
A British traveler while visiting Lohagarh village was impressed by the nobility of this monastery. It is said that on the occasion of the arrival of this British traveler, the zamindar brothers, Loha and Gahar, in an attempt to show their pride, built a road 200 cubits long, 2 cubits wide and 1 cubit high from the river bank to the zamindar's house with Siki and Adhuli coins. Also, as a sign of their financial prestige, they installed a gold bar weighing two and a half maunds on the peak of the monastery. At that time, many died trying to climb the peak of the monastery because of the greed of the golden rod. Later, as a result of a natural disaster, the gold bar got separated from the monastery and fell into the river.
