Kundo Pukur Majar Nilphamari

The shrine of the great saint of Islam Mohiuddin Chishti (RA) is located in Kundu Pukur Union, 5 km from Nilphamari Sadar Upazila. This shrine is known as Kundo Pukur Majar to locals. Hazrat Mohiuddin Chishti (RA) came to the Kundu Pond area to spread Islam from far away Persia and passed away here.

The Kund Pond shrine complex has a mosque, a hermitage and a large pond. Every year on the 5th day of the month of Magh of the Bengali year, the annual Orsha is organized here. Then many devout Muslims gathered from far and wide.

Nilphamari can be reached by road and rail from Dhaka. Direct buses to Nilphamari leave from Collegegate, Gabtali and Mohakhali in the capital. These non-AC buses will cost Tk 800-950. And from Kamalapur railway station you can go to Nilphamari by Nilsagar Express and Chilahati Express trains. The train ticket price is 580-1,996 Tk per person. If you want to go from Dhaka in less time, you can reach Nilphamari by going to Syedpur by domestic airlines. Kundu Pond Shrine can be reached by local transport from Nilphamari town.
