Introduction to Kumarikundo Chittagong

Sitakunda in Chittagong district is the name of a mythical region surrounded by green hills. Hidden in the crevices of the mountain are the unique wonders of nature, numerous small and large waterfalls and springs. The mysterious aura of the hill also houses the remains of an ancient temple known as Kumarikundo. In ancient times, Hindus considered hot springs very sacred. Kumarikunda is similar to the temple built around a fire pit burning gas in the form of bubbling gases like the Saltaksakunda and Agnikunda located in Sitakunda. The main pilgrimage site has moved about 10 km due to time. And various structures made of old bricks have been buried in the ground.
Kumarikunda is a 8-10 feet deep clear blue water well or Chowbachcha which is blocked with stones. Bubbles of gas constantly erupt from beneath the clear blue water. And all the odd shaped stones occupied the wall space around the temple. Lost in the depths of time, Kumarikund is now an attractive place for adventure loving tourists.
