Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari

Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari (Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari), established about a hundred years ago, is located in Kirtipasha Union of Rajapur Upazila of Jhalkathi District. This historic zamindar house is located 5 km from Jhalkathi district headquarters. At present there is Prasanna Kumar Secondary School in a part of the zamindar house. Kamlikand Navin Chandra Girls Secondary School on stage and hall. And the original zamindar house and Durgamandi are dilapidated in the jungle.

Part of the descendants of the Bikrampur zamindar founded the house around the end of the 19th century, Kirttipasha zamindar. In the early 19th century, King Ram Sengupta of the Vikrampur zamindar clan came to this village of Kirttipasha. Here he built two houses for his two sons. The eastern house for the elder son which was 10 annas large hisya known as zamindar bari. And for the younger son, the eastern house which was known as 6 annas chota hisya zamindar bari. The younger son's zamindar house was destroyed long ago. And some parts of the eldest son's zamindar house survive. The zamindar's son of this zamindar house was poisoned and killed. And his wife died with him. Later they were buried together. There is still a nat temple, hall house, small and big temple. Two famous people of this zamindar clan are Rohini Roy Chowdhury and Tapan Roy Chowdhury.

Jhalkathi can be reached by any of the launches that leave from Dhaka Sadarghat launch terminal for Jhalkathi on the river route. The launches that leave are Sundarban-2, MV Farhan-7, TS Masood, TS Ostris, TS Lepcha. Besides, if you want, you can go to Barisal and go to Jhalkathi from there.

From Jhalkathi to Kirtipasha It will take 10/20 minutes to go to Kirtipasha market by rickshaw or autorickshaw from Jhalkathi. Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari can be reached by walking for 3-4 minutes from the market.
