Khelaram Data House Dhaka

There are several folk tales in this region about Khelaram Data of Nawabganj, Dhaka district. It is known that Khelaram Data was a dacoit chief. He was also widely known as a famous philanthropist. He would help the poor people without hesitation.

There was a tunnel from Khelaram Datar's house to Ichamati river. And it is said that he used to bring home the looted wealth through this tunnel. Khelaram Datar's house has been renovated and access to the tunnel has been banned. As a result, the house cannot be entered at present, Khelaram Data House and temple (Khelaram Data Temple) can only be visited from outside.

There is a huge pond next to Khelaram Data's house. Legend has it that Khelaram Datha jumped into this pond to save his mother and never came up again.

You can go directly to Bandura by bus from Gulisthan in Dhaka. Or you can come to Doha through Babubazar Bridge or Shaheed Buddhijibi Setu (3rd Buriganga Bridge) and take the road from Kalakopa to Bandura.

Due to its location near the capital Dhaka, one can go and return in the same day.
