Jor Bangla Mandir Pabna

Jor Bangla Mandir located at Raghabpur in Pabna district headquarters is one of the archaeological monuments of Bangladesh. As there are no inscriptions, exact information about the builders and construction period of Jor Bangla temple is not available. According to legend, Brajmohan Krori, a tehsildar of the Nawab of Murshidabad, built this double Bengali temple in the middle of the 18th century.

Built on a brick altar, the temple has three entrances in front and two huge pillars on either side of the way. This entrance was once full of terracotta works like other parts of the temple. The wall design and terracotta work of the Jor Bangla temple resembles that of the Kantjiu temple in Dinajpur district. There is an exit from the temple at the back of the temple. At present Bangladesh Directorate of Archeology is supervising the Pabna Jhor Bangla Temple.

Jhor Bangla Temple is located at Raghavpur, just 2 km from Pabna city. You can come to Pabna from any part of the country by renting a rickshaw for Tk.

Besides, several buses leave from Gabtali Technical Junction in the capital Dhaka to Pabna. All these Pabna-bound non-AC and AC buses fare from Tk 500 to Tk 900 per person depending on the standard.
