Curzon Hall Dhaka

Curzon Hall (Curzon Hall) is about 115 years old historical building and antiquities located in Dhaka University area. Currently, Curzon Hall is being used for teaching in Science and Biology Department of Dhaka University. The then Governor General George Curzon laid the foundation stone of this building on 14th February 1904. Curzon Hall was used as the building of Dhaka College from the time of the abolition of the Partition of Bengal until the establishment of Dhaka University in 1921.

This two-storied Curzon Hall building is considered to be one of the architectural landmarks of Dhaka. The interior of this red-painted stucco building has a large central hall. There is a beautiful garden in front of Curzon Hall. A fine road runs through the garden from west to east. Behind the building is the nearly 400-year-old traditional Musa Khan Mosque, a large pond and the main residential building of Sher Bangla Fazlul Haque Hall. Across the road opposite Curzon Hall is the Children's Academy and the traditional Doyle Square.

Curzon Hall has a lot of historical importance not only as a witness of time. After the partition of Bengal in 1905, Curzon Hall was used as the headquarters of the provincial capital. The historic Curzon Hall was the first public protest against making Urdu the sole state language.

Curzon Hall can be visited anytime and there is no fee for visiting Curzon Hall.

You can visit this Curzon Hall of Dhaka University from anywhere in the capital Dhaka . And if you have your own car, it doesn't matter. Or you can come to Shahbagh by bus, from there you can take a rickshaw fare of Tk 15 to Tk 20 to Curzon Hall.

Old Dhaka has a special tradition for food. You can undoubtedly choose food items from Al Razzaq, Hajir Biryani, Kashmir Kachchi, Beauty Boarding or Sultan's Chai.

If you have time, you can spend an afternoon at Rose Garden , Ahsan Manzil , Shaheed Minar , Medical College, Doel Chattar, Suhrawardy Udyan, Fine Arts Institute, National Museum or TSC.
