Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahmans Grave Dhaka

Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman (Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman) was born on February 2, 1953 in Khardd Khalishpur village of Maheshpur Upazila of Jessore District under present Jhenaidah District. Mohammad Hamidur Rahman's father's name is Akkas Ali Mandal and mother's name is Mosammat Kaymunnessa. In 1970, Hamidur Rahman joined the East Bengal Regiment of the Pakistan Army as a sepoy.

In October 1971, Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman was fighting in Srimangal area of ​​Sylhet. On the orders of the team captain, Hamidur Rahman advanced to occupy the Pakistani base at Dhali BOP on the morning of 28 October. Risking his life with a machine gun, Hamidur Rahman single-handedly destroyed two Pakistani battle tanks. The captain of Shatrughat and several soldiers were killed in this. Once while fighting, this brave son was shot in the enemy's counter attack and fell to his death. Within a few days of his sacrifice, the border outpost of Dhal came under the control of the freedom fighters. The comrades took Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman's body across the border and buried it next to a mosque in Ambasa village, India.

After 36 years, in 2005, the mortal remains of Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman were brought to Bangladesh from Ambasa village in Tripura state, India. On December 11, 2007, his remains were reburied at the Mirpur Intellectual Cemetery in Dhaka.
