Raja Sitaram Palace

Raja Sitaram Rajprasad (Raja Sitaram Rajprasad) is located 10 miles away from Magura town in Mohammadpur upazila. At that time Mohammadpur Upazila was the capital of Raja Sitaram. Born in 1658 AD, Sitaram hailed from Birbhum district and was a Northern Royal Kayastha. Raja Sitaram's father, Udaya Narayan, was appointed tahsildar in Bhushana Pargana on merit. And gradually Udaya Narayan increased the taluk and became the Raja, whose fame still exists in Muhammadpur.

The ruins of the ancient fort, Sukh Sagar, Krishna Sagar and Ram Sagar, Dol Manch, Raj Bhavan ruins, Malkhana, Simha Darja, Dashabhuja Temple, Tosakhana, Krishnaji Temple and Lakshmi Narayan's octagonal temple can be seen in Raja Sitaram's palace. The Madhumati stream once flowed past King Sitaram's palace. King Sitaram's 2 big guns were named Kale Khan and Jhum Jhum Khan. The length and width of the clear water Ram Sagar Dighi is 1500 and 600 feet. And the Black Sea Dighi is located in the south east side of the fort in Kanai Nagar village. In 1836, an epidemic damaged the palace of King Sitaram.

The royal palace of King Sitaram is located at Rajabari in Mohammadpur Upazila of Magura District. From the capital Dhaka Sohag ( +88-02-8012674 ), Hanif ( +88-02-8011750 , +88-02-9003080 ), Harti ( +88-02-9002989 , +88-02-8012290 ), Eagle ( + 88-02-8017698 , +88-02-8017320 ) Transportation AC, non-AC bus can be taken to Magura for 580 to 1300 taka. Besides, you can come to Magura from any part of the country by bus and get off at Mohammadpur bus stand, take a rickshaw, van or walk half a kilometer away to visit the palace of King Sitaram.

The residential hotel system in Magura is not that good. Among them Hotel Chalantika and Chhaya Bithi are notable. Besides, one can stay in Zilla Parishad Dak Bungalow and Magura Circuit House subject to permission.
