For buying pineapples, there is a huge pineapple market every Friday and Tuesday on both sides of the Dhaka highway in Jalchatra area of Madhupur. Most of the pineapples that are available throughout the country during monsoons are spread across the country from Madhupur. Among them, Jaldugi and GiantQ pineapple produced in Arunkhola, Sholakundi, Aushnara Union of Madhupur are the most popular.
During the peak season of pineapples, the Jalchhatra haat extends from the 25 mile junction to the police outpost. Farmers bring the pineapples produced in their fields to the market in the morning. And buyers from different parts of the country come here to buy pineapples at wholesale prices. Apart from pineapples, bananas, kamaranga, amra and kachur are sold in this market. It is not possible to understand this huge activity around buying and selling pineapples in this market. Apart from Jalchhatra market, pineapples are bought and sold in Garo market, Madhupur market and 25 mile market. Apart from seeing the pineapple market, the eye-catching pineapple orchards, the sweet smell of ripe pineapples and the beautiful scenery of the countryside enthrall nature lovers.
