Lokayan Life Diversity Museum is an exceptional sight located in Akcha village of Thakurgaon district . Focusing on the public life of the working people and small ethnic groups, the folk culture, various tools used by the working people and various aspects of life have been brought out in this museum. In 2006, with the aim of presenting the history and tradition of Bengali to the new generation in a beautiful way. Muhammad Shaheed-uz-Zaman established this Lokayan Life Diversity Museum.
There are about 70 different types of fruits and 120 types of medicinal plants in the large premises of Lokayan Biodiversity Museum. Initially, the journey started as Trinamool Folk Gallery, but later small ethnic group gallery, Nadi Gallery and Liberation War Gallery were added here on different thematic levels. Here are various items used in agriculture and folk traditions since ancient times, daily items used by laborers or common people, ancient marital instruments like madal, sanai, palki and topar, various musical instruments including ektara, dotara, list of rivers, information about fish and aquatic plants, Various materials and history used in the liberation war, obscure handwritten documents of the British period, letters, ponthi and zamindar tax collection receipts have been preserved.
Full of chirping birds, the Lokayan Life Diversity Museum has a variety of entertainment for the little ones including swings, spinning wheels, swings, bamboo lofts for visitors to sit on, chairs and tables made of tree sap. On the other hand, various traditional events like Varshamangal, Navanna and Pitha festival are organized in the museum premises on the basis of Monsoon, Hemant and Shita. And in these events, local folk songs, poems, songs and tribal dances are performed.
