Kullapathar Sohid Smritisoudho is a burial place built for the memory of martyred freedom fighters in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria district. In 1971, there are tombs of about 50 people who fought bravely with the Pak army and were martyred in this Kullapathar, which is full of memories of the liberation war.
During the Liberation War, the bordering Kasba Upazila was under Sector No. 2. The area has come under repeated attacks by the Pakistani Army due to the training camp of the freedom fighters located in Agartala, India. Due to the fact that the war was organized several times, the dead bodies of the martyrs were scattered in different places at that time. Even their burial was not done properly. At that time, local resident of Kasba freedom fighter Abdul Karim and his relatives used to collect the bodies of unknown martyred freedom fighters in their ancestral house and bury them after bath and funeral.
At that time 50 freedom fighters were martyred including 2 Bir Bikram, 1 Bir Uttam, 2 Bir Pratik. When Abdul Karim and his wife died after the liberation war, they were also buried in Kullapathar. In 1972, the government initiated the construction of memorials, plaques, grave walls, arches, rest houses, ponds, mosques, writing the names and addresses of freedom fighters on each grave, and implementing afforestation projects in the surrounding areas of the Shaheed Samadhi. A large number of visitors came to pay their respects to the martyrs of 1971 in a quiet environment surrounded by trees.
