Here you can see the watch tower and several forts. Mutianyu offers cable car and toboggan rides as well as hiking.
Badaling Great Wall: It is more convenient to go to Badaling Great Wall from Beijing. Here you can enjoy the cable car and also visit the Great Wall Museum. There is hiking from the north side of Badaling Wall to the watch tower. But to avoid the crowd it is better to enter the Great Wall from Mutianyu Great Wall instead of here.
Huanghucheng Great Wall: This place is less touristy and difficult to travel from the city. But there are opportunities for challenging hiking. Some parts of the wall are submerged under water. So here you can see the beautiful view of the lake.
Xuongguan: It is most convenient to get here from Beijing. Here you can go hiking and visit some forts.
Simatai: Only this part of the Great Wall is visible at night. Simatai is originally recognized as a World Heritage Site. There are facilities for cable cars, battery carts and boating.
Huangguguan: “The Great Marathon” is held here every year in May. Here it is usually better to go around the mountains by tourist bus.
Shanghai Pass: The last part of the Great Wall that merges with the sea. This part of the wall was originally a border guard. It is better if you can spend 1 whole day here.
Jinshanling: It takes about 2-3 hours to go to Jinshanling from Beijing. Half of it has been reclaimed but the rest is still forested. Tourists like to hike from Jinshanling to Simatai.
Gubeiko and Gianco: This section of the Great Wall is quite dangerous. The whole place is still surrounded by forest, no restoration work has been done here so tourists are not allowed to visit this part.
