Egyptian architecture was built on the Giza plateau around the 26th century. Pyramids, mummies and other signs of ancient civilizations can be seen in the deserted desert of Giza. For tourists, the biggest pyramids here are King Khufu's Tomb, The Great Sphinx and the Solar Boat Museum of Giza.
Giza Pyramid Compound (Giza Pyramid Compound): Located on the outskirts of the city of Giza, the plateau of this pyramid is one of the main tourist spots of the city of Giza. The mystery of this pyramid has fascinated tourists for centuries. The Giza Pyramids are mainly composed of Khafre Pyramid, Menkaure Pyramid and Khufu Pyramid. Khufu's pyramid still holds its position as an ancient Seven Wonders monument. All three pyramids are surrounded by 4,500-year-old sphinxes.
Beside these three pyramids there are several other smaller pyramids which are mainly of queens and other big royal class. There is a £160 per person ticket which allows you to climb about 50 feet up the largest pyramid and a separate ticket to get inside. But after 5 pm it is not possible to stay here.
Saqqara: Apart from the Giza pyramid, there is another pyramid which is about 30 km away from the capital city. Ancient tombs cover a large area of Saqqara. Work on the first pyramids began at nearby Dashur and Abu Sare. The Step Pyramid here, which basically looks like a curved and Red Pyramid where you can find the wonderful architecture of the pharaohs, is particularly noteworthy for tourists. It is better to spend a day here.

Grand Egyptian Museum: This new museum is a special attraction for tourists. Spread over an area of 4,80,000 square meters, this museum is the largest anthropological museum in the world. It houses various artefacts originally collected from King Tutankhamen's tomb. And through this museum, tourists will have the opportunity to see the entire collection of King Tutankhamen for the first time.
Pharaonic Villege: A living museum built with replicas of ancient Egyptian villages and Tutankhamen's tomb. This museum is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm. Boat trips are available here. A guided tour of the museum built in this ancient rural atmosphere will give you a good insight into the history.
Solar Boat Museum: Built in 1985, this museum exhibits a reconstructed Khafu Solar (barge boat recovered from the Great Pyramid).
Great Sphinx of Giza (Great Sphinx of Giza): Located on the banks of the Nile River, the Giza Plateau facing west to east is this limestone statue with the body of a lion but the head of a man. Although it looks like a monster, the Egyptians thought of this figure as the power of the pharaoh.
Giza Zoo: Giza Zoo is home to Giza's largest park surrounded by greenery. Spread over an area of about 80 acres, the zoo houses many endangered animals. Also, several strange and rare species of trees can be found here.
Orman Garden (Orman Garden): One of the botanical gardens in Egypt. The garden was part of the Khedive's palace during the reign of Khedive Ismail Pasha in 1875. Many species of flowering plants can be seen here. During the spring when almost all the trees bloom, the surrounding becomes colorful and looks very beautiful. You can also buy flowers from here. Many people come here to have a picnic with their families on holidays.
Aquarium Grotto Garden (Aquarium Grotto Garden): Once there were many fish here but now there are some small fish aquariums. The environment around here is quite beautiful, many people come here for a walk in the afternoon. But there is a separate play space for kids so it is a good place to visit with kids. There are several cafes here.
