Introduction to Chera Dwip

Chera Dwip is the southernmost land of Bangladesh. Shredded Island is located about 5 km south of the coral island St. Martin . The island is known as 'Cheradia' or 'Siradia' to the local people. Chhenra Island is full of natural rocks, corals and coconut trees. At high tide, one-third of the island is submerged under sea water. As the blue waves of the ocean lap against the rocks, a mesmerizing scene unfolds.
Every year thousands of tourists come to Chhenra Island to see the blue sea, the sky and the mithali of the sunset. Apart from this, the magical enchantment is created in the moonlight on the torn island. So many people come to camp on the night of Purnima in this beautiful torn island.

How to get to Torn Island

Dhaka to Teknaf: To go to Chhera Dwip, you have to come to Teknaf first. Teknaf can be directly reached by various buses from Dhaka. St. Martin Paribahan, Shyamoli, Eagle, Modern Line, Green Line, S Alam etc. buses are available from Dhaka's Fakirapool, Abdullahpur, Gabtali and Sayedabad to Teknaf. Bus fare usually ranges from Tk 1050 to Tk 2500 depending on the type of service. It takes 10 to 12 hours to reach Teknaf.
Dhaka to Cox's Bazar: Coming from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar , you can take another bus to Teknaf as per the time. Many buses depart from Dhaka for Cox's Bazar between Tk 900 to Tk 2500. Besides, you can also come to Cox's Bazar by air from Dhaka.
Dhaka to Cox's Bazar by Train: To reach Cox's Bazar directly from Dhaka by train, you can take Cox's Bazar Express or Tourist Express train. You can travel to Chittagong at your own convenience by Sonar Bangla, Turna-Nishitha, Suborn Express, Mahanagar Prabhati/Godhuli, Chattla mail trains. Train fare will be Tk 405-1398 per seat. Then board the Cox's Bazar car from Bahaddar Hat or New Bridge area of ​​Chittagong. You can travel by S Alam, Saudia, Unique etc. buses to get good service. Rent will be Tk 420-1000.
Cox's Bazar to Teknaf: From Cox's Bazar to Teknaf you can get various local buses or micro/jeeps. It usually takes one and a half to two hours to travel from Cox's Bazar to Teknaf depending on the conditions.
Teknaf to St. Martin: Qutubdia, Carey Sindabad, Eagle, Sundarbans etc. ships from Teknaf to St. Martin every morning. Several trawlers and speedboats also ply this sea route. It takes two hours to two and a half hours to go from Teknaf to Saint Martin by ship. Depending on the class of the ship, the up-down fare is like 550-800 rupees. Ships depart from the jetty wharf daily between 9am and 10am for St. Martin and return from St. Martin between 3.00-3.30pm. So if you do not arrive at the jetty before time, the chances of missing the ship increase. And those who spend the night in St. Martin have the opportunity to return the next day on a ship that is already mentioned in the ticket.
Usually the ship runs for five months from November to March. Therefore, if you go to St. Martin at other times of the year, you have to hire a trawler or a speedboat. Seas are rough except in winter, so it is not safe to travel by trawler or speedboat during this time. However, if you are an adventurer, you can experience the trawler yoga in rough seas.
St. Martin to Torn Island: Speed ​​boats and motor trawlers are available from St. Martin's jetty to Torn Island. Fares to the Torpedo Islands usually depend on the season. Depending on the season of tourism, you can visit the torn island for 100 to 200 taka per person. And if you have enough time, knowing the time of low tide, you can walk or rent a bicycle to get out of the island.

What to eat and where to eat

Apart from two or three tea shops and dabs and watermelons, there is nothing much on the torn island. If you want to eat here, you have to carry food with you. You can also go back to Saint Martin and eat.
In Saint Martin you can eat coral, sundari poa, hilsa, roopchanda, lobster, kalachanda etc. different types of fish. Some of the notable restaurants in St. Martin are Carey Marjan Restaurant, Beach Point, Hotel Allar Daan, Bazaar Beach, Assam Hotel, Sea Beach, St. Martin, Comilla Restaurant, Real Restaurant, Haji Salim Park, St. Martin Tourist Park, Hotel Sadek etc. But check the quality and price of food before eating.
